DIY Honey Conditioner: You Get More Shine with Honey

Step by step guide to DIY Honey Conditioner

diy honey conditioner

I was a spoiled little girl growing up, the worst kind: a daddy’s girl. In many ways I still am, but that’s another story. Anyway, I used to throw tantrums when I didn’t get what I wanted, and my mom would always say “You get more bees with honey than you do with vinegar!” Who hasn’t heard that one? My dear mother, never one to reinvent the wheel. So, today I’m here to tell you that this saying holds very true when it comes to gorgeous hair.  With honey you can have all you ever wanted from you hair with shine, body, and moisture.

What You’ll Need

Shower cap

This spa grade shower cap helps give an excellent deep conditioning!  Using your own body heat, it creates an environment similar to a hooded dryer for maximum penetration.  I like to use disposable shower caps for conditioners, as they are affordable and you don’t have to worry about getting them dirty!

Find great ones HERE.

I prefer to use raw alfalfa honey because the texture makes for an amazing hair mask! Any honey will work well.

Essential oil of choice

If your hair is oily, you should probably skip this step.  My hair is typically dry, so I include it.  I love using coconut oil because it solidifies below 75 degrees.  Kept in a cool room, it becomes semi-solid, and this thickens the hair mask and keeps it from running. Coconut oil also has countless benefits for hair health!

Find a great one HERE.

If your hair is oily, yogurt will work beautifully as a substitute for the essential oil.  Try to use one that has as little sweetener or additives as possible.

How to Mix

You want to use a 2:1 ratio of honey to the other ingredients.  The exact amount will vary by hair length and thickness, but half a cup of honey is usually a good amount to start with.

Sweet Talk Your Hair

Apply to the hair and keep under the shower cap for at least thirty minutes.  If you end up using raw alfafa honey you will need to rinse very carefully to make sure you get all of it out! I like to co-wash (lightly wash with conditioner) to make sure everything gets out.  When you have finished rinsing, dry and style as usual! My hair was literally glowing from within.

Birthday Makeup Tutorial: FULL FACE MAKEUP

Birthday Makeup Tutorial

Birthday Makeupj

HEY GUYS! Today is my BIRTHDAY and I am so beyond excited to get this birthday makeup look up.  I love birthday makeup tutorials because they allow you to go all out and be super dramatic, with a look that is meant to make you stand out as the center of attention.  I also like to wear a makeup look that is long wearing and comfortable when it comes to birthday makeup, so more often than not I opt out of glitter for the night.  I go with strong, bold statement shadows and a nude lip for a show stopping look that is super easy to maintain throughout the night! Check below for all the products that made this birthday makeup look possible as well as the video tutorial to go with it.  Hope you all enjoy!

Ombre Hair: Bombshell Hair Tutorial

Bombshell Hair Tutorial: Summer Ombre

bombshell hair tutorial

Hey guys! So this may be the first hair tutorial I have ever posted on here…I can’t remember, aha. But I wanted to get one up since I get a fair amount of requests for these on my youtube channel!  These ombre hair extensions are absolutely gorgeous, and I am so excited to be able to try it out.  It really adds dimension to the curls, and I am so enjoying rocking this look!

I used a John Frieda curling iron, in 1.5″ from Amazon but you can get it at Ulta too! Right now, they are offering a FREE John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Finishing Cream (offer valid 7/2/14-8/2/14 or while supplies last).   It is a really great curling iron, it heats up fast and had great cool down time.  I highly recommend it because it has Titanium Ceramic technology, which seals in moisture and cuts down on frizz!  These are two very essential characteristics for any heat tool to have.

Ombre Hair Tutorial: Step by Step

Before applying heat to your hair, always prep with a heat protectant.  My favorite is by Aphogee, and it is the Keratin & Green Tea Reconstructor.  Keratin is the MVP in my hair regimen, and I highly recommend it for anyone with dyed or chemically processed hair!

Then I proceed to curl the hair!  I used Aquage Hair Spray, and it is one of favorites. It gives amazing hold without the cruchiness that often comes with other hair sprays!

Nicki Minaj Makeup from The Other Woman Movie Premiere!

Nicki Minaj inspired look calls for some SELFIES!

Nicki Minaj Makeup inspiration for some summer night glam

Welcome to my first Nicki Minaj makeup tutorial! Scrolling through instragram, I came across a photo of Nicki Minaj’s makeup at The Other Woman movie premiere. Her make up always looks so beautiful on the nicki minaj instagram page. I have to say I was completely blown away with how GORGEOUS she looked! The look was very simple, even a little understated—smoky lid with a classic winged liner—but it was show stoppingly striking when paired with Nicki’s sultry edge, beautiful features, and unmatched confidence. I loved it so much I HAD to recreate it, with some adaptations to suit my face and skin tone.
