Ultimate Spring Makeup Look—a Spring-y Pop of Color!

spring pop of color blog postHey guys!  I was recently approached by Preen.me to try the Lancome Visionnaire [1 Minute Blur] Skin Perfecter, and I decided to upload my ultimate beauty look for Spring to go along with it! This look features a defined crease, a neutral matte lid, a cat eye and a nude lip.  Pretty basic right? But my favorite part of this look are the accents: a bold, duo-chrome pop of color along the lower lash line and a bright gold highlight in the inner eye.

I was more than blown away with how beautifully this base performed, especially with makeup applied on top.  If you want to know more about his product, check out my full review.  To see how I got this look, check out my tutorial below!

Could not be more excited to be feature on POPSUGAR Beauty!

What is POPSUGAR? Where have you been?! The home site describes POPSUGAR Select as a beauty blogger network “featuring the best fashion, beauty, fitness, food, home, mom and video bloggers hand-selected by our editors.” I joined the network several months ago, and decided to submit my first post late last month…I am now ecstatic to announce that my post was selected for feature!  I am a huge fan of POPSUGAR, as is everyone else I know, so this was a huge honor and I am more than happy to be on the site this month.

POPSUGAR Post History: A Little Background on the Look

Looking through spring spreads, and makeup on the runways I was blow away ad inspired by so many of the looks I was seeing.  Bright neon pouts were definitely trending, usually in orange hues, and I decided I wanted to partake :).  I have yet to find a bright orange I like, so I started looking around for alternatives.  Look no further than the Pantone Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid!  While I am a huge fan of this color, I wanted something a little brighter—ie, more on the neon side.  Enter MAC Heroine Lipstick, a GORGEOUS formally discontinued special edition shade that had recently come back for good due to popular demand.  I remember staring longingly at swatches of lipstick when I was first introduced to MAC lipsticks wishing I could get my hands on a tube…needless to say, when I saw that it was back, I immediately put an order in.

To make a long story short: NEVER shy away from what you truly want, take risks, and who knows—you might end up featured on POPSUGAR, donning the spring lip color of your dreams.
