From left to right: Lollipop, Brown Sugar, and Sugar Plum
Look at them. Justtt look at ’em! Revlon Lip Butters come in a number of shades, many of which can be flattering on a wide variety of skin tones. Missing form the bunch is Pink Truffle, one of my favorites from the line and a definite my-lip-color-but-better holy grail product. I actually went to pick one up today, but I had already taken the photos. You can find Pink Truffle here. Now for the review…
Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters
I am absolutely in love with this line. The texture, the smell, the color payoff…just perfect! First let me start with the smell. It has a very subtle shea buttery type scent that you will hardly notice most of the time, and will probably like when you do pick up on it. The texture is…well, buttery. It’s smooth and moisturizing without feeling slippery the way these types of products often can. It’s also got a really impressive color payoff that manages to give a gorgeous tint subtle enough to look naturally flattering, but bold enough to give good oompf! Somehow the colors are so universally flattering they look like completely different shades on different skin tones.
Lollipop is a pretty bright blue-based pink that’s pretty sheer, but has an impressive build. I use this for a bold lip paired with a simple cate eye and it makes me look like a barbie doll. So fun. Love it!
Brown Sugar gives my lips the most beautiful bronze shimmer, and complements my skin tone in unspeakable ways! I almost exclusively use these in the summer months when I’m big on highlighter over blush.
Pink Truffle is a gorgeous my-lip-but-better that gives me a nice, warm flush. I like it best in the spring and summer months, but again have used up so many tubes in the last year since I discovered these that it’s safe to say I’m a fan all year round.
Sugar Plum gives a beautiful plum flush that looks divine in the winter and fall, but also works in the summer when applied lightly. I have literally gone through almost 10 of these Sugar Plum bad boysin less than a year, and I de-potted the rest once I hit tube. See below for proof.
De-potted Sugar Plum
No strong negatives come to mind. Brown Sugar has gotten the least amount of use, mostly due to the fact that it leaves behind an annoying glitter residue on the lip. I have, however, gone through two tubes already which should tell you its not much of a deal breaker.
These are not longwearing colors, nor are they advised as such. They are a beautiful cross between tinted lip balm and a satin lipstick. I highly recommend them to everyone, but especially to those lipgloss and lip balm mavens who are wary of or inexperienced with lipsticks and looking to jump in! That’s definitely where I was last year when I first picked these up, and I must say they were my gateway drug.
If you wanna see how I de-pot these and other lipsticks, let me know! What are your holy grail lip products?
Preen.me VIP: Laura Gellar Beauty Spring 2014 Collection
Hey guys! So I’ve already told you all that I am a fan of Preen.me, here, and so I was more than ecstatic when they reached out to me to try some products from Laura Geller beauty as part of the Preen.me VIP program. The set, which includes products from the Laura Geller Beauty Spring 2014 Collection, includes some very beautiful eyeshadows and the most long wearing liquid eyeliners I have tried in a long time…if not ever. I swatched one of the liquid liners from the Calligraphy set before I went to bed, and when I woke up it was still there. Though it had smudged a tiny bit during the night, I’m not a still sleeper, the intensity and color had withstood the test of time. Without further ado, here is the video!
Hey guys! So if you read my blog post about the Miss France fiasco, you already know all about my Pinterest board. If not, here’s the post! I was so excited to finally be able to get this look up. It is the first of what will become a series of looks inspired by the women from the Pinterest Board, “The Skin I’m In.” Haven’t seen the board? Here it is!

Gladiator Tribute: Olivia Pope Inspired Makeup that’s perfect for fall!
Olivia Pope is fashion forward, stylish, and always on the mark. Even in the midst of a national crisis, she is put together—even if that means sending a White House aid to her apartment to retrieve fresh suits and blouses. She is arguably the most powerful woman in the free world, so it’s no wonder she has the leader of the free world in her back pocket. All these things, combined with the fact that #ScandalisBack, compelled me to do an Olivia Pope inspired look as part of my Fall Makeup series! The oranges, golds, and taupes I include help make this on trend. I hope you enjoy this makeup look as much as I enjoyed myself putting it together! Everything I used, as well as a link to the video is included in this post.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this makeup look and tutorial inspired by the ever fabulous Olivia Pope. Please feel free to comment with any questions, and don’t forget to like my video and SUBSCRIBE!
